'El Sol Verde' (the green sun) is a combination of a lodge and a campground, located 15 km. Northeast of Liberia,
close to the entrance of National Park Rincón de la Vieja. This beautiful place, at the boundary of the authentic little village Curubandé,
is a nice place to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. It also offers a chance to meet the Ticos (inhabitants of Costa Rica) in their daily life.

| The lodge has three cosy rooms, two double rooms and one quadruple room.
All rooms have a private bathroom with a hot shower and are equipped with a fan. You can also give your stay a more adventurous touch by
spending the night in a (rental) tent on the campgrond.
Daily we serve a delicious breakfast with fresh fruit and orange juice on our colourful terrace. Here you also find a book exchange, magazines and games. |

It is only a 10km. drive to the entrance of National Park Rincón de la Vieja. 'El Sol Verde' therefore is a good starting
point to make excursions to this magnificent piece of nature. You can hike the famous "Las Pailas" trail en see boiling mud, bubbling lakes and steaming vents or hike to one of the waterfalls and have a refreshing swim. Even more adventurous is the climb to the crater of volcano Rincón de la Vieja. Besides this you can take a Canopy-tour, go tubing, horsebackriding, or mountain biking.
At El Sol Verde we offer guided tours to National Park Rincón de la Vieja. And for people who travel without a rental car we can also arrange transportation to the national park. Besides all this you can visit the nearby located National Parks Santa Rosa and Palo Verde or spend a day at one of the North Guanacaste beaches.
